Megan Davenport, LMBT #8719

Megan Davenport, LMBT, specializes in Swedish and Myofascial Massage as well as an interest in structural integration work. Massage therapy and the healing power of touch have been longtime passions for her. And, when her path brought her back to the Triangle, these passions led her to massage therapy school.

Megan is a graduate of the Body Therapy Institute in Silk Hope, North Carolina, a COMTA (Commission on Massage Therapy Accredidation) accredited school, one of only two massage therapy schools in the state to carry this title. In addition, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has found this educational background to pair well in somatic psychology, a field which emphasizes the connections between the the state of mind and the state of the body. This mind-body connection is a central part of her focus in the practice of therapeutic massage.

An eastern North Carolina native, Megan is again a resident of Chapel Hill. She takes much joy in living in such a progressive area that combines the wealth of activities a larger city has to offer with the small-town sense of community and rural peace. In addition to her love for massage therapy and holistic well-being, she enjoys local and organic cooking, playing tennis, and going to see the wealth of live music the area has to offer.

Her continuing education has included hot stone massage, pregnancy massage, Reiki, headache management and even canine massage. Jackie integrates what she has learned from her studies and experiences as a massage client into all of her sessions.

Over the last decade, she has worked in spas and independently, but has found the most professional satisfaction working with Dr. Bradshaw and seeing how effective and transformative chiropractic care and massage therapy together can be for a client. Many clients come to Dr. Bradshaw's office because there are in pain in one specific area and are pleasantly surprised to see how much faster healing can be when the whole body is addressed.

Ten years ago, when Jackie lived in New York City, she worked for a wonderful chiropractor with a massage therapist on staff and witnessed clients morphing from stereotypical New Yorkers to mild-mannered, smiling humans within an hour. She realized that this could be a very fulfilling career and moved to Chatham County to start massage school. Jackie is very happy to be working with the already smiling residents of NC and her career is as fulfilling as she had hoped.
